Joan Duveen is an international teacher in Chinese philosophy and acupuncture for 17 years. He is specialised in the five elements and the philosophy of the heavenly stems and earthly branches in relationship to acupuncture. Besides teaching these subjects, he gives intensive seminars in pulse diagnosis.

His training in Chinese medicine started in 1977 with different teachers and schools. He received a B.Ac. from Dr. Van Buren's ICOM in Holland in 1986, after which he was invited to be trained for M.Ac. in England, which he received in 1991.

Joan is co-founder of the Dutch study centre Pa kua, a centre which organises post graduate studies all over the world, with the aim to make authentic Chinese philosophy practically used in clinic.

He practices in his private acupuncture clinic in Almere, Holland.
